QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENT POLICY

The DMD SOLOFRA SPA’s Direction has elaborated Quality and Environment Policy that keeps in mind the customer’s satisfaction and the safeguard of the environment favouring the professional growth of the people that collaborate with the company.

DMD SOLOFRA SPA operates in scenery characterized by:

  • an increasing competition,
  • a concentration of enquiry in the traditional sector,
  • a greater sensibility for the quality of the leather goods and an elevated attention to the connection quality/price,
  • an elevated water consumption and the use of many chemical substances; by this the tannery is an industrial sector with a great environmental impact.
    In order to maintain the reached position and to acquire new market areas, it is necessary to consider the quality as a business strategy and to operate in terms of "sustainable development", that is to guarantee an economic growth that safeguards the environment and the comfort of nowadays citizens without jeopardizing the life quality of the future generations.
    The Quality and the Environment Preservation must be pursue in every phase of the business processes, from the orders to the delivery, and it must be finalized to the followings aims:
    • the full satisfaction of the customer,
    • the achievement of elevated environmental performances,
    • the continuous improvement.

    To satisfy the customer means particularly:
    • to understand and to realize the customer’s wishes, personalizing the products,
    • to supply skins conform to the customer’s order,
    • to punctually deliver the skins, as the agreements,
    • to be flexible in order to answer customer’s requests,
    • to maintain contacts with the customers and to clearly give every useful information,
    • to respect the requests referred to the processes and to the goods.

    To achieve elevated environmental performances means:
    • not only to respect the laws and national and international rules but also to minimize every negative environmental impact connected to the processes,
    • to preserve the environment where the company operates,
    • to grant safe working internal and external environment to the workers,
    • to consider the potential environmental impact in the development of new products by the planning,
    • to prevent the pollution from the order to the delivery,
    • to optimize the processes minimizing the environmental impacts,
    • to use in a correct way all the natural resources, minimizing the wastes,
    • to minimize the production of wastes and to improve a correct management;
    • to look for improvements for the environment prevention.

    To realize the above aims, we need the help of our staff that must:
    • feel responsible of their own job,
    • consider "inside clients" the users of their own job,
    • contribute to the environment prevention directly and wholeheartedly.

    Every employee must:
    • understand and satisfy the request of their own "customers", as internal or external,
    • identify and eliminate the causes of errors, wastes and negative impacts, in the procedures of own their job improving continuously.

    Every area organizer must:
    • transmit and explain the Quality and Environment Policy to every partner specifying their own task,
    • look after the training for the Quality and Environment Policy, in order to realize every thing in the best way in at the first time.

    The Direction want to consolidate such aims through the maintenance of the Quality and Environment Management System referred to the norms UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 and UNI EN ISO 14001:1996.

    The System foresees the monitoring of the business and environmental markers, by which is possible to measure it and to improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of the principals processes. This is useful to look for the continues satisfaction of the customer and safeguard of the environment.

    The Direction annually defines new Quality and Environment Aims, it represents a continuous challenge for the sustainable growth of the company and it depends on the engagement of every employee.
